About This Role
As Senior Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for originating and converting new business opportunities across Australia, with a particular focus on alternative asset classes and sophisticated investment structures.
This is a highly autonomous, commercially driven role suited to an experienced professional who thrives in a hands-on environment. You will work as part of a small, senior Australian team, partnering closely with local leadership while leveraging global delivery, operations, and product capabilities to design and execute tailored client solutions.
Success in this role requires strong market relationships, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to engage credibly with clients on operational and regulatory considerations.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Business Development & Growth
- Drive new business development across fund managers, family offices, investment firms, and asset owners in Australia.
- Position Ascent’s full suite of fund administration, registry, and technology services to prospective clients.
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline from origination through contract execution.
Client Engagement & Delivery
- Provide hands-on support from contract execution through product launch, prior to handover to a Client Relationship Manager.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships within the Australian investment management ecosystem.
- Act as a trusted partner to clients by understanding their operational, regulatory, and servicing requirements.
Collaboration & Market Representation
- Collaborate with global delivery, operations, and product teams to structure solutions aligned to client needs.
- Represent Ascent Fund Services at industry events, meetings, and market engagements.
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrated track record in business development within fund administration, alternative asset structures, or investment management services.
- Strong existing network and relationships within the Australian funds management and alternatives market.
- Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision in a senior, lean team environment.
- Highly commercial, self-motivated, and outcome-focused mindset.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience selling enterprise platforms or technology-enabled services.
- Exposure to global operating or delivery models.
