Howard specializes in the asset management sector. He is an advisor on fund formation, regulatory and compliance framework and best practices in the areas of accounting, operations, legal and governance. Prior to joining KPMG in Singapore, he had over 7 years of experience providing audit services to the Asset and Wealth Management industry in Hong Kong. Howard’s area of expertise includes hedge funds, traditional funds and ETFs. He is also a subject matter expert in VCC and the Cayman Islands Mutual funds/Private Fund Law.

Woan Ting has over 15 years of experience, the later half of which was in the alternative investment space. Prior to joining ASCENT, she held the position of Senior Account Manager at a leading fund administrator where she was responsible for monitoring overall end to end operations, whilst in this position she gained breath of experience in developing and implementing solutions on tax reporting matters and strategies and refined her skills for AML , Compliance and Risk Analysis – to support the successful execution of the business strategy through the delivery of an integrated risk and compliance culture programme across the company

Prior to joining Ascent, Calvin was in a leading fund administrator for four years. He has obtained his degree of Actuarial Science from Macquarie University that has led him to acquire skills that allowed him to excel in his career. His extensive knowledge in the technical mechanics of Fund Accounting has enabled him to handle complex Client Relationship. He brings to Ascent his extensive technical knowledge in Fund Accounting, Crypto-currency products, Debt products and Fund structuring. He is also currently leading Ascent technology and software projects.

Brandon is one of the pioneers in the VCC space having advised 1 of the 18 fund managers that participated in the MAS’ VCC Pilot Programme and has since acted as the legal adviser to the formation of more than 20 umbrella and standalone VCCs. Prior to founding BTPLaw, he founded the corporate practice of WMH Law Corporation in 2019 at the age of 31 years old from scratch and within the span of a year managed to grow it from zero to being nominated as a finalist for the prestigious Asian Legal Business Awards in the category of Boutique Transactional Law Firm of the Year in the whole of Southeast Asia.

Desley leads business development in Singapore for private capital clients and is responsible for executing commercial strategies to accelerate new business growth in the region. He acts as the primary contact point for fund managers – understanding their challenges at various stages of the fund cycle and proposing holistic solutions that are delivered through KPMG and its partners. Desley works with global and local fund managers who are keen to set up operations or establish a fund in Singapore.
