Teo Wee Hwee

Wee Hwee has an extensive experience in structuring single country and multiple jurisdictions funds with a Asian focus, both close/open ended, listed/unlisted, and across various asset classes. He is also familiar with fund platforms in Singapore, Luxembourg, the Cayman Islands etc., as well as tax efficient divestment planning opportunities for funds with multiple exit strategies. Wee Hwee has also assisted many Singapore and foreign investors to structure their Singapore real estate investments in a tax efficient manner across various asset classes.

Prior to joining Ascent, Calvin was in a leading fund administrator for four years. He has obtained his degree of Actuarial Science from Macquarie University that has led him to acquire skills that allowed him to excel in his career. His extensive knowledge in the technical mechanics of Fund Accounting has enabled him to handle complex Client Relationship. He brings to Ascent his extensive technical knowledge in Fund Accounting, Crypto-currency products, Debt products and Fund structuring. He is also currently leading Ascent technology and software projects.

Chris spearheads Carey Olsen’s crypto practice, having advised on a series of token offerings, crypto funds and crypto exchanges. He most recently advised the Radix DeFi platform on the issue of E-XRD. Among other previous notable projects, Chris advised Finance on the launch of its Jersey exchange. He has considerable experience in dealing with the Jersey Financial Services Commission in navigating crypto projects through the Jersey regulatory approval process team. Chris also has broad experience of both general international corporate and funds work with particular expertise in private equity and hedge funds.

Susan McKinstray

Susan is based in Carey Olsen’s Singapore office and advises on a wide range of corporate and investment fund matters across BVI, Cayman and Jersey. She relocated from Carey Olsen’s Jersey office to Singapore in 2018 and is uniquely placed to provide advice to clients in Asia on structuring, formation, launch and maintenance of funds in these jurisdictions across a broad range of asset classes, in addition to advising on downstream M&A and preference share financings. Susan has particular experience working with Asia based fund managers using Jersey fund structures.
